A little summer fun!
A few days ago, Avi and I took a quick getaway to Chicago, my favorite U.S. city! I lived in Chicago for two years while completing my Master’s program at DePaul University many years ago. I thought it was time to introduce Avi to the windy city! We stayed right off of the Magnificent Mile, walked to Navy Pier, and took an architecture boat tour on the Chicago River. Our favorite part was walking around on the busy city streets and visiting with friends in Blue Island, IL.
I have been traveling with Avi since he was 7 months old. Along the way, he has shown me that slowing down and making the most out of every moment is the best way to travel. He may sit down in the middle of a crowded sidewalk or walk at a snail’s pace, which are not typically on my itinerary, but that’s just it, Avi has his own way of enjoying the trip! I have learned that Avi’s atypical way of exploring the world can actually teach all of us how to live in the moment and truly experience the beauty of our surroundings. Sounds like a lovely children’s book idea, right? *HINT HINT* Stay tuned for more information on my upcoming project! In the meantime, check out these pictures from our trip:

Have a great week and thank you for your continued support!
